Jurgen Klopp names a Liverpool player who “struggled slightly” during the team’s victory over AFC Bournemouth.

Liverpool won the Premier League 4-0 thanks to an outstanding second-half performance.

Darwin Nunez’s positional shift, which spurred Liverpool’s victory over Bournemouth, was rationalized by Jurgen Klopp.

With a 4-0 victory on the south coast, the Reds regained their five-point advantage atop the Premier League standings. However, even with their decisive victory, things were not easy for the visitors.

Liverpool struggled to create any clear-cut chances and was goalless at the half. But during halftime, Klopp made a substitution of Nunez, who had been playing on the left flank, for a striker. Diogo Jota moved to the right, and Luis Diaz moved to the opposite flank.

Nunez and Jota both scored doubles for the Reds, who were once more without star player Mo Salah because of the African Cup of Nations, demonstrating the benefits of the decision. And Klopp was overjoyed that Liverpool won a “super-deserved win” that he did not see coming in the first forty-five minutes.

“We have to find a way, for example, in the situation we are in without Mo [Salah],” stated the manager of Liverpool. Though all of our players are capable of playing [on] the right wing, which position is the best fit? And how do we arrange the remaining pieces? Darwin can clearly play on the left wing; in fact, he has experience doing so.

In general, we were overly static during the first part. Darwin plays there as well. Joe Gomez is a little bit deeper, defends there, and waits excessively for long balls in behind. We weren’t really involved enough in possession moments.

We really didn’t have many opportunities there, but I think Diogo had a decent game and Lucho [Luis Diaz] struggled a little on the right wing. Thus, we had to decide whether to assign Darwin to his position, assign Lucho to his position, and ask Diogo to fill it. As I mentioned earlier, Diogo is capable of playing on the right wing, and he has in the past not only is he a really intelligent player, but we have also improved our midfield play as a whole.

That’s significant because, although I’m not positive which goal we scored after winning the ball back, I’m fairly certain that wouldn’t have occurred in the first half because we didn’t push up. You can ask me quite rightly: “This half-time, they are important. Why didn’t you start like that in the first place?” It’s entirely accurate. The good news is that, as we previously discussed, you can see yourself from the outside after halftime, but it’s challenging to alter it on the field. Specifically, where are the half-spaces? It’s entirely accurate. The good news is that, as we previously discussed, you can see yourself from the outside after halftime, but it’s challenging to alter it on the field. Specifically, where are the half-spaces? We could show the boys the two or three good moments we had. In the end, it was [a] well-deserved victory, which didn’t appear that way for a considerable amount of the first half. If we do that, Bournemouth will realize that we are stronger than we demonstrated in the first half. That’s the first step into the game.”
