LSU Closes Major Transfer Deal, Eyes Postseason Glory, and Battles on Recruiting Trail

It was a whirlwind week for the LSU Tigers, packed with major developments on the gridiron, the diamond, and the recruiting front. From securing a game-changing defensive back to making postseason moves in softball and narrowing in on top-tier football recruits, LSU had no shortage of headlines.

LSU Lands Star Safety A.J. Haulcy in Portal Splash

On Sunday night, the LSU Football team wrapped up their spring transfer efforts with a blockbuster move—landing former Houston standout A.J. Haulcy. The coveted safety had other top suitors, including Miami, who rolled out the red carpet during his visit. But once Haulcy stepped foot in Baton Rouge, the Tigers sealed the deal.

Haulcy brings an elite presence to the secondary, something LSU has been missing in recent years. His arrival marks a critical piece for head coach Brian Kelly as the Tigers aim to restore their defensive dominance.

LSU Softball Starts SEC Tournament Run on Wednesday

The SEC Softball Tournament kicks off Tuesday, but LSU Softball earned a first-round bye and will begin play Wednesday morning against Mississippi State. Ranked No. 9 in the tournament but sitting at No. 4 in RPI, the Tigers are squarely in the mix to earn a Top-8 national seed and host a Super Regional.

Postseason hopes are high as LSU seeks to turn regular season momentum into a deep NCAA run.

QB Bowe Bentley’s Recruitment Narrows: LSU or Oklahoma?

After 5-star QB Jared Curtis committed to Georgia, it appears the Bulldogs are out of the race for 4-star passer Bowe Bentley—making it a two-horse battle between LSU and Oklahoma.

Bentley, once heavily favored to land in Norman, has become LSU’s top quarterback target. According to Steve Wiltfong, the Tigers are surging.

They’ve been closing fast on Oklahoma,” Wiltfong said.

With momentum building, LSU could soon pull off a major win under center.

Lamar Brown Reschedules Commitment Date as LSU-Texas A&M Race Heats Up

Elite 2026 defensive lineman Lamar Brown, one of LSU’s top in-state priorities, has postponed his commitment from July 4th to July 10th. The battle for Brown’s signature is shaping into a fierce SEC rivalry, with Texas A&M pushing hard to snatch him away from Louisiana.

Keeping Brown home is a must for LSU, especially with the Aggies looming as a regular opponent.
